               Abstract
The Division of Pharmacy and Traditional Chinese Medicine encompasses a
comprehensive spectrum of disciplines, including natural products, traditional Chinese
medicine, industrial pharmacy, medicinal chemistry, biopharmaceuticals, nanomedicine, cell

therapy, nucleic acid therapeutics, vaccines, clinical pharmacy, pharmacogenomics, toxicology,
pharmaceutical policy, health insurance drug pricing evaluation, pharmacoepidemiology, and
pharmacokinetics. New drug development plays a pivotal role in the national biotechnology
industry, and the field of pharmacy bears the critical mission of advancing Taiwan’s
pharmaceutical research and innovation. It actively fosters close collaboration between

academia and the pharmaceutical sector, promotes the translation of fundamental research into
practical applications, and accelerates the development of new therapeutics. The COVID-19
pandemic, which disrupted global supply chains and caused widespread drug shortages, further

underscored the significance of domestic pharmaceutical manufacturing capabilities. By
encouraging research innovation, clinical translation, and academia-industry partnerships, the
pharmacy discipline continues to strengthen Taiwan’s public health infrastructure and provide
a robust foundation for the Taiwan pharmaceutical science and technological advancement. In
today’s presentation, I will introduce the review mechanisms, key developmental priorities,

and future strategic directions of this discipline.
