               ◼  Biography
                  Kuei-Hung Lai is an Associate Professor at the Graduate Institute of Pharmacognosy and the
               Ph. D. Program in the Clinical Drug Development of Herbal Medicine, College of Pharmacy,

               Taipei Medical University (TMU), and Vice President of the Society for Free Radical Research–
               Taiwan  (2025–2028).  He  earned  his  B.S.  in  Life  Science  from  National  Chung  Cheng
               University (2010) and dual Ph.D. degrees in Pharmacognosy from Uppsala University, Sweden,
               and in Natural Products from Kaohsiung Medical University (2017). He has held postdoctoral

               positions  at  the  National  Museum  of  Marine  Biology  and  Aquarium  and  Chang  Gung
               University of Science and Technology before joining TMU in 2020. His research focuses on
               natural products chemistry from fungi, plants, and marine organisms, with emphasis on mass
               spectrometry-based  metabolomics  for  drug  discovery.  His  team  investigates  bioactive

               compounds  against  inflammatory  diseases,  develops  sustainable  coral  aquaculture  for  drug
               supply, and advances evidence-based Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) through a TCM
               bioactive metabolite molecular network platform. He has received major honors, including the
               Ta-You Wu Memorial Award (2024), the Young Scholar Award from the Society of Chinese

               Natural Medicine (2023), and the National Innovation Award (2023, 2024).
