◼ Biography
Dr. Chen earned his Ph.D. from the National Defense Medical Center and Academia Sinica
(2012). He subsequently completed postdoctoral fellowships at Academia Sinica (2012-2014)
and Chang Gung University (2015-2018). Dr. Chen served as a Project Assistant Professor in

the Department of Cosmetic Science at Providence University (2018-2021) and an Assistant
Research Fellow at the E-Da Hospital (2021-2025). Currently, he is an Assistant Professor in
the Department of Pharmacology at Kaohsiung Medical University (2025-present). His
research focuses on the pharmacological characterization of immunomodulatory and anticancer

drug candidates, exploring their therapeutic potential in neutrophilic inflammation, cancer
treatment, and dual targeting of the tumor immune microenvironment. Dr. Chen has published
60 research papers (h-index 16) and holds 5 invention patents. His notable academic
contributions have been recognized with several prestigious awards, including the Outstanding

Alumni Award from the Department of Biomedical Sciences at Chung Shan Medical University
(2023), the Dr. Tsungming Tu Young Investigator Award from the Pharmacological Society in
Taiwan (2022), the Junior Research Award from the Society of Chinese Natural Medicine
(2019), and Award of excellent Ph. D. thesis sponsored by Dr. Chien-Tien Hsu (2012).
