Dear Distinguished Guests and Esteemed Scholars,

On behalf of the Society of Chinese Pharmaceutical
Sciences, Taiwan, I would like to thank the Organization
Committee for allowing us to co-host the 2025 Advancing

Traditional and Innovation, Challenge, Opportunities and
Prospects in Chinese Medicine and Natural Products.

The Society of Chinese Pharmaceutical Sciences,

Taiwan, is a newly established Society with a limited
number of members. The aim of the society is to elevate
the academic levels of TCM herb communities through various continuing
education programs to make up for the deficiencies of formal education in the
TCM herb practitioners. The Society will focus on the quality control of TCM

herbs and herbal preparations following the specifications set in the Taiwan
Herbal Pharmacopeia. The identification of TCM herbs, including morphological
and microscopic identification, Chemical identification, including TLC

identification and HPLC fingerprints, and assays of major ingredients. We also
pay attention to foreign matters such as sulfur dioxide residue, heavy metals,
aflatoxin, pesticide residue, etc. The identification of commonly misused and
adulterated TCM herb species will also be addressed.

The Society of Chinese Pharmaceutical Sciences, Taiwan, likes to work closely
with related Societies and Associations to ensure the quality of TCM herbs and
herbal preparations in Taiwan.
