Dear Distinguished Guests and Esteemed Scholars,
On behalf of the College of Chinese Medicine at China
Medical University, it is my great honor to welcome you to
the Joint Symposium on “Advancing Tradition and
Innovation: Challenges, Opportunities, and Prospects in
Chinese Medicine and Natural Products.”
Integrating four major societies, leading research centers,
and top academic institutes—together with the annual research presentation of the
Division of Pharmacy and Chinese Medicine under the National Science and
Technology Council (NSTC)—this event highlights the collective strength and
innovation of Taiwan’s research in natural products, traditional medicine, and free
radical science. This event is co-badged by the Society for Medicinal Plant and
Natural Product Research (GA) and the International Society for
Ethnopharmacology (ISE), reflecting strong global support for our shared vision.
As we face the complex health challenges of the 21st century and the rapid rise
of AI, integrating traditional wisdom with modern science has become ever more
vital. Founded in 1958, China Medical University is Taiwan’s first and leading
institution in traditional Chinese medicine. Among its nine colleges, the College
of Chinese Medicine is the largest and most distinctive, nurturing generations of
physicians and researchers who bridge tradition and innovation, East and West.
Thank you for joining us in Taichung. May this symposium inspire
collaboration and shape a healthier, more sustainable future.
