◼ Biography
Prof. Wang, Professor at the School of Pharmacy, College of Pharmacy, Taipei Medical
University, Taiwan, received the Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (Sep 1988 – Jun 1993),
Master of Science in Pharmacy (Sep 1993 – Jun 1995), and Doctor of Philosophy in Pharmacy
(Sep 1996 – Jun 1999) from Taipei Medical University. Research interests focus on evidence-
based traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and the translation of findings into
biopharmaceutical products. Major studies include investigations on TCM processing methods,
with emphasis on the correlation between phytochemistry and pharmacology after processing,
aiming to establish quality control standards. In addition, the philosophies of TCM prescriptions
are explored, as most prescriptions consist of multiple herbs with distinct functions. Analysis
of phytochemical compositions is conducted to clarify clinical applications and reveal the
rationale for prescription formulation. Building upon these studies, Prof. Wang is dedicated to
the development of new botanical drugs and innovative TCM prescriptions. Current projects
particularly emphasize the application of TCM in the treatment of arthritis, gastric ulcer, acne,
osteoporosis, and chemoprevention.
