Abstract
The study of chemical compositions of the stem and root barks of M. pteleifolia afforded four
undescribed benzopyran dimers along with thirteen known compounds, including four
furoquinoline alkaloids, four coumarins, two triterpenoids, and three chromenes. The structures
of the undescribed compounds were established according to the NMR spectroscopic and mass
spectrometric analytical data, and the known compounds were identified by comparison of their
spectroscopic and physical data with those reported in the literature. All the isolated compounds
would be further examined for their anti-inflammatory and cytotoxic bioactivities.
Keywords: Rutaceae; Benzopyrans dimer; Alkaloid; Coumarin; Spectroscopic and
spectrometric analysis
